On this week’s episode I was lucky enough to speak with perinatal psychologist, Katie Lazaris, who shared with me her wisdom on supporting mothers through matrescence, the importance of a mother’s mental health and wellness, and how we can better support mothers, especially in those early years after having a baby.
About Katie:
With a special interest in perinatal mental health, Katie Lazaris is an experienced psychologist and a mum to two cheeky young boys. Originally working with children and families as a school psychologist, Katie has undertaken further extensive training in perinatal psychology, integrating knowledge of maternal mental health, infant mental health, developmental psychology, family dynamics and systemic issues to guide women through the challenges that come with navigating matrescence.
Although based in Sydney, Katie provides support for mamas Australia wide from preconception, pregnancy, birth and three years postpartum through her virtual clinic, and also provides service to the Gidget Foundation Australia.
