Beyond S1E2 - Why are inside transformations backwards?

Follow
MySecretMathTutor

Have you ever wondered why inside transformations seem to work backwards, or opposite of your intuition. In this quick video we'll see that this is a result of the frame of reference you choose when graphing. Remember that what we commonly called the parent function is what we commonly use for a frame of reference, but if you are careful, you can choose a different one.
