Big Boy Steam Locomotive, Amtrak & Canadian National Railway Hitting The Railroad Diamonds In Tuscola, Illinois. Includes Decatur & Eastern Illinois Railroad With 3 Locomotives Pulling A Train. BIG Herzog Rock Train & Short Line Railroad Action Included. Union Pacific Railroad Makes An Appearance Also. This Video Has It All!
I chased the Big Boy Steam Locomotive Train all the way to Tuscola, Illinois. While I spent the day there waiting for the train to pass through I was able to get a variety of other trains. I had a lot of luck that day. Tuscola has three Class One railroads and a short line railroad. This is my first time ever being there so I don't really know that much about it. I will add any good info to the description in this video so please leave some comments that will help with this video.
The railroads here are Union Pacific, Canadian National, CSX and Decatur & Eastern Illinois Railroad. Amtrak also passes through here and two Amtrak trains passed through while I was here. I stayed here until after Big Boy crossed over the diamonds.
The first train is short line railroad Decatur & Eastern Illinois Railroad. This train had 3 awesome looking locomotives. I was told that this railroad would only see action after dark so getting this train was pure luck.
Next we see Amtrak booking over the diamonds. Then we take a close look at the rail on the main line and then a Canadian National train goes over the diamonds. This train had 2 Illinois Central locomotives and a Canadian National Railway locomotive. Another Amtrak passed through while this train was going by.
A little while later I was surprised with a Union Pacific Railroad train slamming the diamonds. That was awesome! Not long after that came the best surprise of the day ( not counting Big Boy ). We see a long Canadian National Herzog rock train. That was really cool watching it cross the diamonds!
Finally, the guest of honour showed up. Big Boy steam train came through and I got a great video of it crossing the railroad diamonds. Have you ever seen a video of Big Boy crossing railroad diamonds? I bet there aren't many. Tuscola was full of railfans.
