Palisade fences were constructed to keep the enemy from entering a fort so they needed to be tall enough in sections to stop the enemy but low enough in parts to allow for counter attacks. They also need to allow for easy repair after damage. Our team are hard at work creating this palisade all around our Roman Fort.
