In this presentation to EAA Chapter 818, Bill Collier shares his experiences flying helicopters in Southeast Asia for Air America. After a Vietnam tour with the US Marines, then flying support missions for the Alaska pipeline and nuclear weapons testing in the Aleutians, Bill joined Air American, flying H34 helicopters in Laos. He shares interesting and hairraising stories of his various missions and experiences, which he also recounts in his book, "Air America: A CIA Super Pilot Spills the Beans," available on Amazon. Bill has also written two other books, also on Amazon: "The Adventures of a Helicopter Pilot: Flying the H34 Helicopter in Vietnam for the United States Marine Corps" and "The Worldwide Adventures of a Helicopter Pilot: ...the Rest of the Story."
