Texan native Bill Griffith is a true FV guy who has been dedicated to the series for 50 years. He began running a vintage Formula Vee shop, Big Hammer Racing (Cedar Hill, Texas), 25 years ago at its current location. This is a true Formula Veeonly race preparation and trackside support shop.

The Formula Vee league was established and recognized as a class of the SCCA (Sports Car Club of America) in 1963. The midengine race cars were limited to the use of VW Beetle components only: 1200cc engine, transmission, suspension… The fiberglass body sat atop a tube frame chassis.
