Lithophanes 3D is a simple but useful FREEWARE utility that uses bitmaps to generate 3D surfaces. Depending on source images and parameter settings, the software can generate basrelief, Lithophanes or Moulds. Output meshes are 'watertight', to facilitate slicing for 3D printing applications

Lithophanes 3D is Brazillian in origin, with option for English GUI. A language editor is provided for adaptation of the GUI into other languages.

Also available via the same author is a small vector sweeping utility to produce a 3D surface (such as a vase) by rotating a profile through 360 degrees.
