Welcome to my hometown, Wolverhampton. I downtoearth, nofrills, rough and ready city. In my opinion this is the heart of the Midlands. Growing up in this area, Wolvo has always been a place with obvious problems, but the people are about as genuine as you could wish to meet. Kind hearted, honest and eccentric characters with a great sense of humour abound. Unfortunately, Wolves city centre is in poor decline. Once bustling, many of the streets of the centre are empty full of boarded up shops and with very few shoppers. It was a sad sight for me to encounter on my return. I noticed some homeless people in the city and thought I could buy some survival essentials for them, so I ventured over to nearby Bilston market. Much to my surprise, the working class Black Country traditional market there was bustling and I was met with a very warm welcome. I think the video shows both the declining and deprived nature of the area offset by the kindness and generosity of the wonderful locals.
