It captures the long journey I’m currently on in life, the sleepless nights spent wondering if I’m doing enough, and the silent struggles I face within myself. As an artist from Lagos, Nigeria, I have to in fact learn how to fight for my place in a world that doesn’t always want to give you room. There have been days when I felt stuck, like I was running in circles, chasing dreams that seemed so far away. But even when it feels overwhelming, I keep pushing forward because I don’t have another option. This song reflects that constant movement, the grind we’re all too familiar with.

The Bible verse from Isaiah 30:18 which says: “Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; therefore he will rise up to show you compassion.” Was actually read out in the song and this is because that verse has been a reminder for me that no matter how hard things get, there’s grace in the waiting. This promise of grace keeps me going, even when setbacks hit hard.

“Lagos to Abuja” is about me and every young person in Lagos who wakes up every day and hustles, refusing to give up. We sacrifice, we cry, we doubt ourselves, but we keep moving forward. Every struggle is part of the journey and that’s why it is full of energy and life. Despite the challenges, we don’t stop. This song is meant to keep you going, to remind you that your journey, no matter how hard, is worth it. I’ve poured my heart into this, but I can’t do it alone. That’s why I say in the song that I need all the support I can get to push this out there. It’s not just for me, it’s for all of us. For every hustler who has ever felt like giving up at one point but kept moving on.
