Video showing my experiments with increasing power on the Blade 200SRX. Awesome heli, but totally gutless. I'm am trying Walkera V200DO2 blades on it and the video shows the results of that test. I have cut 3/4" off the end of each blade, because at full length they just have too much power. I have not experienced tail blowout even with the full length blades and I have also not noticed any significant increase in motor temperature during testing. The motor barely gets warm. I have chosen to work with the blades rather than changing the gearing because the head speed is already so high. High head speed just means much more damage in a crash. I have seen to much of that on my TREX 250. I think the blade change is a much better solution. I have flown the heli with the full length V200 blades and it flew fine except applying excessive power in fast forward flight resulted in some instability. This is why I have decided to cut the blades down a little. Note that this is a work in progress and that I will do more flight testing with these and report back (if the wind here ever stops). :) BTW: The Walkara blades only cost $3.85 as compared to $9.99 for the stock ones so that's just a bit of a bonus. :) Note that the V200DO1 blades are the same as the D02 blades except that they are yellow. If you cut the blades, be sure to screw them together first so that they remain in perfect balance.
