When v4 of Midjourney was first released, the ability to blend images together with image prompts was all the rage. I honestly think this was mostly supported by the excellent default stylization in v4, which made it incredibly easy for anyone to do this. And as many people seemed to struggle with how image prompts worked, the introduction of the /blend made it so much easier.

But with v5 I sometimes feel that image blending has lost its allure. Especially because I don't find the initial results very convincing anymore. I'm not entirely sure why, but it might have to do with the lack of default stylization.

However, we now have additional tools at our disposal that allow us to use novel approaches to achieve similar things. And these are especially helpful when you're not dead set on getting something that looks exactly the same as your image references.

These novel methods are:
1. Blended Reverse Engineering
2. Multiprompt Image Blending

I'm sure some people have already tried this and are using these methods. But very few people are talking about them publicly. I think they are fantastic alternatives to classic blending because they not only produce crisper and more varied results. They also give you far more control, so you can finetune your images too.

I strongly urge you to check out this video. I think it will teach you to be more creative in your Midjourney workflows :)
