In (2 : 20), (16 : 33), to switch the curve's directions, you must select all its vertices.
In (2 : 45), you can scale the whole object on the Y axis only, and then hit Ctrl+A and choose scale, to apply the scale to the mesh. With that, you don't have to scale the shape keys.
