One of the most unusual beaches in Nova Scotia, Blue Beach has fossils that are 350 million years old!
Located just outside Avonport, make sure you check the Hantsport tide times in advance so you don't get trapped between the water and the cliffs.
While many people know Joggins Nova Scotia as the spot for prehistoric fossils, Blue Beach has fossils 40 million years older.
A good reference for the significance of this place is the Blue Beach Fossil Museum. They were closed when I was there but I believe if you call in advance you may be able to get a guide, and the museum has lots to see from fossils over the years,
