Check this video if your beamer makes funny noises under the hood. It might be that you need a belt and tensioners replacement.

And if that's the case, things are pretty straight forward, but find by yourself watching this video what an easy job this can be. Only a 10 mm, 16 mm and a flat head screw driver are the necessary tools.
