Welcome Back to Another BobBlast!

This week's Best of BobBlast we reach WAAAAAAY BACK into the archives and found the very first BobBlast video!

Just Show Up! was filmed and released in March, 2015–it is just as true today as it was nine years ago. With this Best of BobBlast, I wanted to show you the growth and contrast… that was then, this is now! So be sure to watch the video all the way through to my demo of my latest series of work, "Brothers."

This new series actually started from another painting titled "We're Just Talkin'"–which is all about communication between you and me. Then, the focus turned into a series about my brothers. I have four brothers. We talk together every month. We reminisce, we laugh, we irritate each other–just like we always have, for our entire lives. My brothers are the reason why I want to continue this series of paintings.

My demo is "Brothers Talking” is a painting in three values of black, grey and white. Starting with gessoed watercolor paper, I play with five black tissue paper shapes, gluing them with gel medium. Next, I start painting with grey and white acrylic paint, using a large brush.
In this first pass with this painting, I am exploring compositions (Floating and Asymmetrical) and shapes in space!
