Beauty by Robin McKinley is a retelling of Beauty and the Beast one of two McKinley has written in which Beauty is a nickname for a young woman named Honour, who is the ugly duckling of her family. She winds up being the one to be sent to the Beast after her father stumbles into the Beast's home.

This was initially published in 1978 and was republished as an ebook in 2014.
