Earlier this month, 2K said that it would reveal the "next iteration of a 2K Games franchise," with many speculating that it would be Borderlands 4. Several rumors suggest that the game has been in development for some time. Borderlands 4 and Tiny Tina's Wonderland 2 emerged late last year via a game developer's LinkedIn profile. A voice actor also listed Borderlands 4 on their resume, although Gearbox emphasized that this was a misunderstanding. There is also a Borderlands movie in the works, set to be released in August, and timing the movie and game series close together is a usual approach for brand exposure.
