This documentary reports on the Short Course that took place in Zambia in July 2018 whereby 25 participants learned about Borehole Drilling Supervision. The course was delivered by a mixture of training and teaching methods and hands on field measurement, comprising a first day of classroom sessions to introduce the different aspects of drilling supervision followed by three days of practical field work and a final day in the classroom for rounding up and reflection on lessons learnt. Participants were encouraged to ask questions for clarification regularly throughout the course. Course learning objectives:
Understand the importance of effective supervision in borehole construction for sustainability
Understand the steps and detailed actions required in full time supervision
Understand the steps and detailed actions required in part time supervision
Be able to quality assure and certify drilling records
Be in a position to undertake borehole construction supervision

The short course was part of the Project Collaboration Agreement (PCA) 20172019 between UNICEF and Skat Foundation. Developing and running the course was made possible with financial support from UNICEF Programme Division, Skat Foundation and UNICEF Zambia. The course was carried out on behalf of the Ministry of Water Development, Sanitation and Environmental Protection, Zambia.
