A granular ambient improvisation made with Bram Bos Fluss for iPad. All recorded on iPad through AUM.

I have been a bit quiet here on the channel for a while, mostly just been refining a few things that I do. I’ve sold quite a bit of hardware, and I’ve been using mostly an iPad for a while now!

This Fluss app has been great. I’ve always liked the sound of granular, and whilst I understood the basics, there were a lot of details that I just couldn’t quite get my head around, but this app gives an excellent visual representation of what is going on with the sound. The interface certainly helps you to feel as one with the audio. The final product is very different from the original sound, but I never felt lost or confused while I was making this.

I used one of the included piano sounds which was, basically, just the same note on a piano tapped randomly a bunch of times. Effects used were Ultratap and Blackhole by Eventide, as well as the stock low pass filter in AUM. Mastered on the iPad with Grand Finale 2 from Klevgrand.
