Hiked the highest peak in Nevada, Boundary Peak. The hike resides within the state line of Nevada and California (hence "boundary" peak) in fact the trailhead actually begins in California but the summit of Boundary peak is in Nevada. Also, even though its the highest peak in Nevada a higher peak actually neighbors Boundary peak (Montgomery peak which is just an additional ~1 mile ridge traverse from the summit of Boundary peak). Since Montgomery peak is just outside the Nevada state line, it is NOT the highest peak in Nevada (or California for that matter). For this reason, I did not endeavor to summit that peak (maybe next time when I have more time storms started rolling in). The final push to the summit was filled with lots of loose rock and boulders and VERY steep inclines (a missstep in some places could result in a 1000 foot tumble down the mountain) but the views of the surrounding desert at the top made it all worth it.
