Brad was born with stenosis, a narrow spinal canal, and as he grew his problem advance to degenerative disc disease and scoliosis. He tried conservative treatment of injections and other medication but nothing alleviated his pain. Brad was reluctant to undergo traditional back surgery but, after researching minimally invasive surgery and Dr. William Smith's recommendations, he decided to undergo spine surgery using the XLIF technique.
