Today we are going to archive one of the best games that has come out this year! Bramble The Mountain King is an awesome indie title that feels like it pulls inspiration from classics like Inside and Little Nightmares and mixes it with a good amount of Scandinavian folklore.
We play as the boy Olle as we go and rescue our sister. During our perilous journey we will encounter all kinds of creatures, animals and monsters. The atmosphere and vibe in this game are absolutely fantastic. It is so mystical, cut and scary at the same time. One moment you are riding the cutest hedgehog through a pond and five minutes later you are fighting a bloodthirsty troll. There is always something new around each corner and the tempo and pacing are great because of this.
The boss fights were quite varied and pretty challenging too, so that is a good thing. Probably my only complaint is that some of the platforming could be a bit tighter. There are sometimes sequences were timing jumps or performing them will get you glitched or feel off. Games like Inside had perfected this, but that is only on a 2D scale whereas Bramle is in 3D so it is understandable that this is much harder to achieve. But having said that, Bramble is a game not to be missed by enthusiasts of single player adventure games.
