Breathe in Pelvic Floor

Core Exercise Solutions

For today’s Form Friday Challenge, we are going to be taking a look at where your breath naturally goes and then where we can direct it. If you have done any breathing or bodywork, you know we can direct our air and the pressure it creates into different parts of our bodies.⁣

Watch the video for a breakdown of a shallow breathing pattern and how that could lead to neck tightness, and how it is not optimal for breathing. If you ever come back from a run with a tight neck, shallow breathing could explain why!⁣

Check out the video for a full explanation of today’s challenge. The feedback from the pressure of your breath can give you clues as to what is going on with your pelvic floor. We do not want to send all of our pressure into our pelvic floor. It should disperse through the back, front, sides, and pelvic floor. ⁣

How did the challenge go for you? Did you feel your pelvic floor move? ⁣

If you need to work on building better body awareness, I highly recommend meditating (if you do not have time to meditate, this means you need to meditate extra, LOL). Being able to connect and feel what is going on in our bodies is a great skill. Any skill can be learned and improved upon with practice, and it’s definitely one I recommend working on!⁣
