In this video, we'll learn about the history and evolution of the 43 defense of Brent Venables, new Head Coach of the Oklahoma Sooners football team. We'll see how he got his start as a walkon linebacker at Kansas State under coaches like Bob Stoops and Jim Leavitt, and how he worked his way up within that coaching tree, eventually becoming the Defensive Coordinator for Stoops at Oklahoma, before getting hired away by Dabo Swinney and the Clemson Tigers. We'll also see how his defense changed, going from an aggressive, manblitzing defense at Kansas State in the 90's, to a more cautious zoneblitzing scheme in the early 2000's, before starting to adopt antispread schemes from guys like Jon Heacock, who's 335 defense has taken the football world by storm over the last few years.
