Latching is extremely over powered because the player being latched has basically no option but to wait until they can get unlatched, while being attacked the entire time, but there’s hardly any escape since latch has NO COOLDOWN from the user.
Latching also takes very little skill since creatures with latch are usually very small and agile, thus being hard to hit. I filmed all the Mekmek footage in one whole take, without ANY previous Mekmek experience. And I never had that much difficulty fighting! That’s how easy latching is to abuse.

Killing something by just latching into them constantly is very unfair and also a bit pathetic. It doesn’t allow for the person who is being latched onto to defend themselves at all.

I think that, if you latch on for the max amount of latch time and get shaken off, you should get depleted by a lot of stamina and maybe be slowed for a few seconds, or latching could drain the latcher’s stamina. You can already unlatch whenever you wish so it’s not an issue of being stuck.
