I needed a small handheld morse key for my portable contest operations where I occasionally may need to send (rusty) morse. So, instead of spending tens to hundreds of £/$s, I made my own for free.

I had vague recollections of someone previously making a paddle key out of a mains 3pin plug. After much internet searching my thanks go to Perry G0IFI as it was a picture of his key I eventually came across.

The finished key probably can no longer be inserted into a mains socket due to the addition of the paddles, but best to keep out of the way of young prying eyes, just in case.
