Building a strong core can be simple with these standing trunk exercises. All you need is some space and a couple dumbbells and you should see your overall strength increase.
Think of your core as the supporting frame of a building. It keeps you still while outside forces try to move you, keeps you from collapsing when weight gets added, and as you make the frame stronger, you become stronger as well.
All of the exercises in this video are performed in standing so they can be done almost anywhere. We add the use of dumbbells as you get stronger in order to impart the necessary challenge needed to progress or grow. The amount of weight that you use should be tailored to yourself and your abilities and should be modified as you feel more comfortable with the form or depending on the condition of your body on that day. It is always better to start off with less weight and increase it after warming up or feeling more confident.
