Fernando Higueras was a special architect. And that's why he decided to live in a special place. For this he designed a house buried seven meters deep, in the garden of his old house. The building sought to get as close as possible to the center of the earth, so he decided to call it Hellscraper. Like a skyscraper, but upside down.

The house, built in the quiet Madrid neighborhood of Chamartín, has no windows. The only light that reaches the rooms is filtered through five skylights located in the upper part, four in the patio area and one in the staircase that connects the two floors.

Hellscraper was shown in 1972 and it's a wonderful place. A housestudio that remains hidden from everything: noise, weather conditions and the prying eyes of its neighbors.
