burnt trees will never unburn - for sax quartet (score video)

burnt trees will never unburn is a work for saxophone quartet that is structurally based on the experience of my once closeknit maternal extended family very quickly falling apart as a result of manipulation and distrust. As lies spread from one family member, the rest of the family isolates from each other, unable to trust or understand anyone but themselves, or the story that is most convenient for them. By the end of the work, the family no longer exists as what was once a single entity, but two related yet opposing forces. The title refers not necessarily to literal trees, but family trees, and the idea that once trust is broken to a level that threatens the security of other loved ones, it is impossible to rekindle it.
