Caitlin Clark and Katie Lou Samuelson, along with Indiana Fever coach Christie Sides, talked to the media following their 8984 loss to the Washington Mystics on Wednesday afternoon at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. It was their annual Kids Game — and it was another sellout (17,274).
The Fever turned it over 23 times and were not sharp at either end of the floor until the fourth quarter. Then, after trailing by as many as 22 points, they outscored the Mystics 2913 — including a 120 run — but the comeback came up short.
Lexie Hull started in place of NaLyssa Smith, a new combination. But it helped open up Clark's game. Caitlin finished with 29 points, five rebounds and 13 assists in the loss. Kelsey Mitchell scored 15. Ariel Atkins led the Mystics with 26 points.
