For the second time in three seasons I've attended the Calgary Flames home opener but this time a friend from the past dating back to elementary school hooked me up with a free ticket but it was up in the Press Level. However it was free with food vouchers and free is very good in this economy. I've captured all of the pregame videos, opening sequence, team introductions as well a nice tribute to Johnny Gaudreau who was tragically killed in a drunk driving incident toward the end of August. Last things that I've captured was the national anthems and since Dustin Wolf was starting in net for the Calgary Flames. Had to capture his start of period routine that I've gotten down pat from watching him play with the Calgary Wranglers.

My view for this game was in the nosebleeds at Press Level Section 7 and Row 11, Seat 12 at the Scotiabank Saddledome. When I did the open public tour that the Scotiabank Saddledome has during the offseason. Learned that all the way to the top of the Press Level is as high as an eight story building so you're way up there if you watch a game from the Press Level at the Scotiabank Saddledome. With the construction of the new Scotia Place which will be the new home of the Calgary Flames scheduled to be the start of the 202728 NHL Season. There's not going to be as many home openers at the Scotiabank Saddledome in the future.

When looking at the Calgary Flames lineup to start off the 202425 NHL Regular Season, the expectations and where the franchise is at. What are you're realistic expectations for the Calgary Flames for the upcoming season? Are they rebuilding or just retooling as the team is afraid to say the rebuilding part? I'm brave enough to say rebuilding since veterans from last season got traded and there's more youth in the lineup now.

For the start of the 202425 NHL Regular Season the Calgary Flames opened up on the road against the Vancouver Canucks but the home opener was against the Philadelphia Flyers. What's just too fitting that the Calgary Flames playing the Philadelphia Flyers for the 202425 home opener that it was the childhood favourite team for both Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau. May they both rest in peace as all teams in the NHL have shown touching tributes to them.
