California's Highway S3 in the Anza Borrego Desert

Follow
Sidetrack Adventures

There are a number of highways that cross the Anza Borrego desert in California and travel through Anza Borrego State Park. The S3 is one of them.

The S3 is classified is a short highway, only measuring about 12 miles in length, going from State Route 78 in the south to Borrego Springs in the north. That doesn't mean that there is no reason to stop a long the drive though. We explore an ancient water source that supported life in the desert for centuries, find some epic views, see incredible art, and visit a surprisingly green park in the desert.

Join as we drive the S3 in San Diego County, stopping at Yaqui Well, the William L. Kenyon Overlook, the Galleta Meadows statues, and Christmas Circle in Borrego Springs.

Unfortunately, no bighorn sheep appear in this video.
