This year we will get the sixth installment in the Call of Duty Black Ops series and to prepare for that I wanted to archive the most recent entry. The last Black Ops was a mix between a reboot and familiar territory for fans and newcomers alike. It actually offered a surprisingly fun campaign where you really felt like a spy during the Cold War era.
Especially the mission where you have to sneak into East Berlin and meet up with a mole in order to locate a specific target is so atmospheric and cool. Or where you are inflitraing the enemy headquarters and almost get a Hitmanesque mission that you can complete in different ways.
Black Ops Cold War proves how Call of Duty can be epic and cool without the battles involving hundreds of units. Probably my biggest issue is that there are only two Vietnam missions and one of them plays more like a fever dream. Battles in Vietnam are still very rare to find in videogames and I would love to see more of that in the future. We have no idea what Black Ops 6 will bring, but I know I am prepared to get my hands dirty and work behind closed curtains once again!
