Will the knee joints become worse if an obese person does walking exercises? Can a person with knee joint problem do walking exercise?
There is always a confusion and myth about this topic.
Walking is the safest exercise for obese persons. It’s a long journey and it may take 6 months to 1 year to reduce weight. 15 to 20 minutes is ideal when you start.
If you are obese and wanted to reduce weight, walking is the safest exercise. If you are suffering from arthritis, then you walk every day.
You may think the knee joints become worse. No.
Only if you are in grade 4, you may not be able to walk. You will have to undergo surgery and there are many other options.
Until grade 4, even if you have wear and tear, you have to practice walking exercises. The synovial fluid has the nutrients which needs to be circulated evenly. Walking helps the circulation process happen.
My prescriptions are based on research. Walking is good for people who have arthritis. It helps to move your joints freely. The more you move your knees, the better it is. Hope I have cleared your doubts.
