I have really wanted to test this ever since I picked up my Arrma Vorteks!
Can you take a boxstock Arrma Vorteks, throw on some race tires, and go racing?

Since my Vorteks already has a 17mm hex conversion on it (see more here:    • Arrma Vorteks | How to Convert to 17m...  ), it was easy for me to throw some 1/8 buggy race tires on it and give this a try!

Overall the answer is YES. You CAN race an Arrma Vorteks...although I am not 100% sure what class it would technically fall into at your local track. Mine allows a "runwhatyoubrung" novice class, which would be perfect.

However...it really is not that good without more tuning. Due to the overall narrower stance, and the higher center of gravity, the truck was rather tippy and loose. Give it too much brake entering a corner it will spin out. Tap the wall... it would roll over.

To give me a better idea of how the truck handled, I also brought along the 3S Arrma Typhon. Still not an ideal race buggy, but one that I really enjoy driving. The Typhon was noticeably better!
