Caregivers from abroad play a crucial role in the lives of Canadian families, providing essential care for children, seniors, and persons with disabilities. With the Home Child Care Provider Pilot and Home Support Worker Pilot ending soon, Minister of Immigration, Marc Miller, has announced new, enhanced caregiver pilots. These new programs will grant home care workers permanent residence upon arrival in Canada and the ability to work with organizations offering temporary or parttime care for semiindependent individuals or those recovering from injury or illness.

Eligible candidates must meet specific criteria, including a minimum CLB level 4, a Canadian high school diploma equivalent, recent relevant work experience, and a fulltime home care job offer. This pathway simplifies the process for caregivers to find stable employment and obtain permanent residency in Canada.
