Canoeing and Hiking | Day Two at Lake Louise Banff National Park Alberta Canada

The second full day our our trip started earlier than the first one as we have to drive further and get a parking spot closer to Lake Louise. At first I was nervous about it but when we finally arrived and got our spot for $36 Canadian dollars! We decided to spend most of our time in the area. As soon as we arrived, there were a lot of people at the lake. We walked around and took videos and pictures while waiting for the boathouse to open between 8:30am and 9am. It is first come first serve but if your are their hotel guest, you're the priority. I wasn't expecting the place to be colder than Banff but it was probably due to higher elevation. I was so glad I have layers on. But even then, whenever the wind blew, I was shaking. I couldn't believe how blue the water gets, the further we canoe in. It was spectacular! At this time, I didn't feel cold as we are working our body. The view of the mountains from the lake are so beautiful! After canoeing, we looked for a restaurant but unfortunately, the nearest one by foot is for hotel guests only. So we went back to our car and ate our snacks there and decided to hike around the lake.

Lake Agnes Trail:
Length: 4.6 mile
Elevation Gain: 1259 feet
Route Type: Out and Back

We picked the Lake Agnes Trail as it has a teahouse that is open. It starts at Lake Louise. This hike is a steep and uphill climb but it is all worth it! As you get higher, you will see a beautiful view of the blue lake as well the lingering ice around. I was excited when I finally saw the teahouse but I was even more amazed with what I saw when I passed the teahouse. A frozen lake! It was a beautiful sight to see! There were a lot of people lined up outside the teahouse so after taking pictures and videos, we fell in line as well. The hot chocolate and blueberry crisp was worth the wait on the freezing temperature outside (You couldn't blame me, I am a food motivated person) After eating our food, we started heading back down as we do not have proper gear to continue the hike to Beehive which have a much better view of the lake Agnes from the top. I was crying inside because it's only 30 additional minutes to get there.
