The news feeds have been full of new lightweight ebike launches recently, and we've been guilty of getting carried along by the hype, losing sight of the fact that many of these models are demanding serious coin.

So when Canyon introduced the Neuron:ONFly CF7 recently, with a Carbon frame, Bosch SX motor, and sub£5k price tag, we knew we had to swing a leg over it and see whether it was a bargain bullet or a flawed failure.

We also snagged a high priced CF9 model with which to compare and contrast, riding the same trails.
