Known in Italy as Capraia Isola, Capraia is an island in the Mediterranean and belongs to the Tuscan archipelago of the Tuscany region in Italy. The island's small harbour, Porto di Capraia, is connected to the village by the one and only asphalted road on the island. The village, dominated by the Fortress of St George (Forte di San Giorgio), preserves its original characteristics unaltered. The island is characterized by a rugged mountain range, and the highest mountain is the Monte Castello. The main sights are: Porto di Capraia, Fortress of St. George, Assunta Church, Torre del Porto, Torre dello Zenobito, Torre delle Barbici.
