In this video we check out a sweet deal I scored on some Capri 3/8" Metric Impact Sockets. In addition to getting the deep and shallow sockets, this came with the Westling Machine Billet Aluminum Socket Tray.

Time Stamps and Links
@0:00 Intro
*Please Note: Capri doesn't provide direct links...I list Shallow, Deep, and the Set, but you are taken to the same page where you must select options at each step (Size Range, Socket Size, Tray, etc.).*
@1:10 Capri 3/8" Drive Metric Impact Socket Set, Shallow, 822mm, $29.99
https://capritools.com/shop/38impac...
@5:25 Hercules 12v Ratchet
These were bought specifically to use with my 12v Ratchet
In instances where I need more torque, they will work with my air ratchet and impacts too
@6:15 Socket Tray
When I ordered, I had no clue that these came in a tray
Worth mentioning as it would suffice for a stationary storage option
@7:10 Presentation
Nice sized stamping and laser etching
@9:46 Capri 3/8" Drive Metric Impact Socket Set, Deep 822mm, $39.99
https://capritools.com/shop/38impac...
@10:40 Super Oil
While I won't complain about getting protected sockets, this is probably the most oiled set I have ever opened...You could probably salvage a few ounces if you wanted to do so!
@12:15 Price Comparison
$10 more for deep isn't too bad imo. Capri's impact sockets are very competitively priced.

*Again, you must select the options as this is not a direct link.*
@14:20 Capri 3/8" Drive Metric Impact Socket Set, Shallow and Deep, 822mm, with Tray, $74.99
Price Breakdown:
The Deep + Shallow is priced at $69.99
The Deep + Shallow set with the tray is priced at $99.99
We scored the above set for $74.99, a savings of $25.00!
@16:00 Blue vs Red
@16:30 Peg Count
There are (2) additional pegs on the tray
They do not offer a 7mm, but do offer a 23 and 24mm in 3/8" Drive
I have no clue why there is an 819mm and 822mm, but that the 822 isn't just 824mm
@17:42 19mm Shallow in Hand
Made in Taiwan
@18:09 6 Point Wave Drive
Applies Pressure to the Flats, not Corners
Odd they don't advertise "wave drive" on the packaging
@19:20 No Chamfer
@20:08 Time Lapse of Socket Population
I read LEFT to RIGHT
Looking thru the camera I never noticed they were not equally spaced pegs
@20:50 Reverse Order
@21:54 OCD Alert
I know this will bother a lot of you, and in this case it bothers me
I want the sockets to ascend Left to Right, not to descend Right to Left
Interesting that this is 228 and not 822
Especially given how the branding is traditionally printed
Westling Machine x Capri Tools and 3/8" Metric
@24:00 Tray Improvements
I want Left to Right
A recessed magnet in the base would be great
Button Magnets in the Pegs, or a pull strengtht from below would be great to really hold the sockets
They hold pretty well, but "shimmy" a bit
The tray's aesthetics are great tho...they offer several colors fyi
@25:40 Shallow vs Deep Laser Etching
The Shallow Sockets Block stamping on the Deeps
Not a huge issue, but annoying
I'm sure Capri made these sockets well before deciding to use the Westling trays
Moving the Laser Etching "UP" on the Deeps would alleviate it, but also put them subject to quicker degradation when used (ie spinning on metal surfaces)
@27:30 Final Thoughts on the Tray in this Set
Equidistant spacing would waste space
@29:00 Would Love a Full Custom Route
Realistically it would probably kill the profit margin short of bulk orders
@31:44 Capri vs Pittsburgh
Pittsburgh has a much thicker side wall...pros and cons both ways
@32:15 Chamfer
I strongly prefer a chamfer...
@32:55 Tekton Chamfer
@33:20 Hercules Long Neck Ratchet
@34:43 Detentless Test
13mm Deep Test Fit
@36:16 Koken Test Fit
Starting with Impact Sockets is a great cost savings approach
@36:45 SK LP90
@36:57 Hazet 8816 HPS Test Fit
@37:15 Judgment
You have to use impact sockets before you can endorse them
@37:45 Nice Addition
@38:20 Box Test in the US General 44"
@38:35 Westling vs Olsa Tools
@38:59 Occluded Laser Etching
@39:50 Your Thoughts?
Have you used any Capri Impact Sockets?
How do they compare to other brands?
How do you like the Westling trays?
@41:00 Final Thoughts
@41:55 10 PM Update
Cold Car Wash Thoughts
Yes, you could flip the tray/rail around
That does make the "branding" upside down/backwards
@43:20 Size Updates
3/8" Drive Impacts = No 7mm, but 23mm and 24mm are available
No clue why they don't have set that includes these, especially since the tray is clearly designed for (2) more big sockets
@44:40 Next Day Update
@45:21 13mm to 14mm Interference!
@46:40 23mm and 24mm
@46:55 There was no additional interference the rest of the tray (1422)
@47:55 Little Things
@48:45 What would you do?
