When a March snowstorm cut power at the McManus home in Southampton, a generator turned on. Unfortunately, it was facing the wrong way and vented deadly carbon monoxide fumes inside the house. ADT received an emergency signal from the home’s security system and a dispatcher called to warn the family. She also phoned first responders. When they arrived, portable gas sniffers indicated high levels of the “silent killer” throughout the home. Michelle McManus believes without ADT protection she and her family would have gone to bed and not woken up. She is grateful and anxious to meet her rescuers during an emotional reunion at her home.
