Cathay Pacific 777-300ER Premium economy CX831 New York to Hong Kong (flight review #29)

On March 8, 2018, I had the chance to try Cathay Pacific's ultra long haul premium economy on a daytime flight between New York and Hong Kong. I have a lot of things to say about this flight. First, I would like to give a big thank you to FA Jason for serving me two main courses and also filming the business class snack bar for me. Also, the service on this flight was great, as the crew managed to hand out bottled water right after the first meal, and they were also passing around snacks and drinks. However, there were also some things I did not like about this flight. Since it was a daytime flight, the 2nd meal was served midway through the flight, instead of two hours before landing. I do not like this because it means there is nothing to eat for the last six hours of the flight. This was not the case for business class, as their mood lighting was off when I was eating the second meal, while it was on about two hours prior to landing. The tray collection took a very long time (as usual). This can be really annoying for passengers, as some of them might want to rest or use the bathroom after the meal (it is tough to get out of the seat with the trays). Overall, a mixed experience on Cathay's premium economy product.
