CBEEBIES shut down permanently to make way for BBC Life but with a twist. Straight after CBEEBIES Bedtime Stories finished, it cut to a black screen for about 1.5 seconds and then it cut to a fleshylooking background with a voice telling us that CBEEBIES would be shutting down for good in a few minutes and all our favourite characters would be murdered in the most brutal way in order to make space for BBC Life. A little while later, It cut to the song that always plays before the closedown card but the screen got redder and redder until it was just all red and the audio became very distorted. Once the song finished, it showed the CBEEBIES logo and beneath it, it showed text saying 20022024. Parents were complaining to BBC saying that it gave their children nightmares.
