Although not Pan American, World Airways sent a Boeing 727 to help the evacuation of Da Nang as the North Vietnamese military closed in. The plane was overrun and broke all records on passenger capacity. Pan Am Station Chief Saigon, Al Topping, was there when this aircraft landed in Saigon where he helped World Airways personnel. A short time later, two Pan Am 747s would be involved with Operation: BabyLift and another Pan Am 747 would evacuate airline employees and families as Saigon fell.
