Join us as we celebrate my wife's birthday with a fantastic dinner at Niku no Yoichi, a newly opened Japanese yakiniku charcoal grill restaurant on Gurney Drive, Penang. Known for its delicious grilled meats, Niku no Yoichi is a popular chain in Japan, and we're thrilled to experience their first branch here in Penang.

I made a reservation via their website for a table at 7.30pm. Despite Gurney Drive being busy for a weekday, we found parking without much hassle. The restaurant is conveniently located next to 7Eleven and Bali Hai Seafood Restaurant.

As soon as we stepped in, the inviting aroma of charcoal grilling set the stage for an incredible dining experience. The menu offered a tempting assortment of beef, chicken, and seafood. We opted for a beef and chicken set, along with a pot of Japanese rice. You can order platters or ala carte, we opted for the former.

The meal was absolutely fantastic! The staff were attentive and answered all our questions, making sure we had a great time. If you're a fan of beef and BBQ, this place is a musttry. Everything was delicious, and the Japanese rice was exceptionally good. The kids loved the flavors, and we all enjoyed a delightful dessert to cap off the meal. My wife was treated to a special birthday surprise with churros, mochi, and icecream!

Highly recommended for anyone looking for an authentic yakiniku experience in Penang.
