I've been thinking about this for awhile. What would happen if added some large capacitors on my BigTreeTech TMC2240 drivers. during hard accelerations my stepper motors skip steps at 1.5A. If I keep adding current to compensate my motors and drivers will heat up. My thought was to add some large capacitators to act like a buffer to pick up the slack. My BigTreeTech TMC5160 Plus external don't even skip a beat at 600mm/s 35K acceleration. Let me below if you think this is a dumb or good idea in the comments?
