Millennium concert held by Céline Dion on 31 December 1999 at the Molson Center in Montreal in front of 25,000 people to celebrate the arrival of the new millennium & to give a farewell event, before the 2 year break from the scene, because of her husband Rene diagnosis with cancer, for a period of rest & to try to have a child.
The concert closes the Let's talk about love tour which began in Boston on August 21, 1998; From this tour some shows canceled due to René's illness.

The concert is broadcast in Canada, France & the USA. Many people announce that they will spend New Years Eve watching Céline's performance; among these are Bill Clinton & his wife Hillary, who have always been admirers of Céline & boxer Mohammed Ali.

The evening also has guests: Stéphane Rousseau, Bryan Adams & the cast of the musical by Luc Plamondon & Riccardo Cocciante Notre Dame de Paris. With them Céline sang some duets: It's only love, When you're gone & (Everything I do) I do it for you with Bryan Adams, When I fall in love with Daniel Lavoie, J'irai ou tu iras with Luck Mervil, Le blues de businessman with Bruno Pelletier, Unison with Stéphane Rousseau & I'm your angel with Garou.

Celine Dion (born 30 March 1968) is a Canadian singer. She is noted for her powerful & technically skilled vocals. Dion is the bestselling Canadian artist & the bestselling French artist of all time.Her music has incorporated genres such as pop, rock, R&B, gospel & classical music.

Born into a large family (she is the youngest of 14 children) from Quebec, she emerged as a teen star in her country during the 1980s. She gained international recognition by winning the 1982 Yamaha World Popular Song Festival & the 1988 Eurovision Song Contest, where she represented Switzerland. After learning English, in 1990, Dion released her debut English album, Unison. She has also sung in Spanish, Italian, German, Latin, Japanese & Mandarin Chinese.

D'eux (1995) became the bestselling French album of all time. A New Day... on Las Vegas (2003–07), remains the highestgrossing concert residency of all time & the Taking Chances World Tour (2008–09), one of the highestgrossing tours of all time.

Dion is also one of the bestselling artists of all time, with sales of more than 200 million. Dion is regarded as one of pop music's most successful vocalists. She won 5 Grammys. Billboard named her the Queen of Adult Contemporary for having the most no1 songs for a female artist. Dion is the 2nd bestselling female artist in the US, the 8th alltime bestperforming top female artist in the US & the 6th alltime bestperforming female soloist in Billboard 200 history. In 2003, she was honored by the IFPI for selling over 50 million albums in Europe.

She was named after Hugues Aufray's song Céline.

She was bullied at school & called Vampire, owing to her teeth & skinny frame.

At 18, she receded from the spotlight for months, during which she did dental surgery & learned English.

Celine & Rene married in 1994. In 2000, they renewed their wedding vows.

She has 3 sons. Dion suffered a miscarriage in 2009.

On 14 Jan 2016, Rene died of throat cancer. 2 days later Dion's brother, Daniel, died aged 59, also of cancer.

Dion claimed to be a mezzosoprano.
