CEM Testcase 5: Thermal Infrared propagating EM-wave past a conducting cylinder (FDTD)

Michael Pieters

Computational Electromagnetics.
The timedependent Maxwell Equations are solved with FDTDmethod (finitedifferencetimedomain).
Resolution: 500x500.
A thermal infrared EMwave (300 micrometer wavelength point source, TMmode) propagates and hits a perfectly conducting cylinder (sigma=5e5). No electric field can arise within the conductor.
Nonreflecting open boundaries are implemented with PMLmethod (perfectmatchinglayers).

Code was developed in Python. If I get enough likes, I'll upload the FDTD code on github.
