What's up guys! Today's video is change of direction and strength training for youth soccer players, and youth athlete agility training. We have a special guest, Caleb, who is a 12 year old soccer player! We've been working on the mechanics of acceleration, speed, change of direction, and jumping, as well as building strength and power. Today, his session was all about multi directional change of direction and agility training. We always start with some plyometrics and foundational movements, and then we get into some deceleration training for athletes, followed by change of direction and agility drills. When it comes to training youth athletes, you just really want to make sure the basics are done correctly, because the last thing you want is to be reinforcing bad habits or trying to build good habits on top of bad ones. After this, we move into some power training for youth soccer players to increase speed and explosiveness. Then we do some full body strength training, trying to build strength, fix muscular imbalances, and prevent injuries for youth athletes. Hope you guys enjoy!
