On November 12, 1996, a tragic plane crash occurred over Charkhi Dadri, a town in India near the Indira Ghandi International Airport between an ILYUSHIN IL76TD aircraft and a Saudi Arabian Airlines Boeing 747.

Miscommunication and omission of information by air traffic control resulted in a midair collision over Charkhi Dadri, India, causing the loss of 349 lives, making it the deadliest midair collision in history between two commercial airplanes.
